Assam is situated on the eastern-north side of India. It is located south of eastern Himalayas and river of Brahmaputra and Barak valleys. Assam is mainly the agricultural land, and hills in Assam decorate the state with their splendour. Assam has an area of total 78,550 sq km. The capital of Assam is Dispur and it’s a part of Kamrupan District. It is a small place and economically much sufficient of Assam and also a seat of Government of Assam. The state is divided into 27 Districts. The Assam city presents the variety and diverse culture. With all needed facilities, natural beauty. Assam city attracts many visitors with its beauty. Many cities of Assam bear the price of nature, Assam has a most wanted destination for tourists. Silchar, Dibrugarh, Guwahati, and Nagaon are the major and important cities in Assam.

Geography of Assam

Assam is situated at the gateway of Northeast India. Bangladesh does not connect Assam from conventional India. The main festival of Assam is the Rongali or Bihu. Its name derives from the Sanskrit Vishuvam when day and night are equal through the vernal equinox. The festival starts from 13 days of April also Bihu and Kangali Bihu celebrate.

This national park situated on the bank wave Brahmaputra River which is the heart of Assam. The world famous variety as The Indian One Horned Rhinoceros.
