Budget Travel in India
Key Tourist States
Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Goa, and Kerala are the states which normally all tourists like to visit. It depending on the season they visit India, but it doesn’t mean you can ignore other states. Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh are very close to Himalaya mountains. Goa is famous for its beaches, great resorts, and seafood. Kerala (God’s Own Country) is a green state with a lot of coconut trees, Tea plantation, calm beaches & Ayurvedic Centres. Rajasthan is famous for its historical places, Royal hotels, and forts. Rajasthan is very hot in Summer & very cold in Winter. This is a very short description as covering each state requires writing a long article on it. Based on reader views, I am also adding a visit to Hyderabad and Ramoji Film City in this list.
Travelling by Train to major Railway Stations in India like from one State to another is easiest and cheapest. Once you go to a particular state and want to travel interiors of the State, Bus Transport or Taxi could be a better option. Near all major tourist attractions, you will find comfortable hotels. If you are travelling from another Country, prefer a 3-star, 4-star or 5-star hotel to meet the basic expectations you will have from a good hotel.
Air travel is also affordable and if the Train is going to take more than 8 hours, you nay go with Air Travel if the budget allows. Select Shivneri Bus service (operated by State Transport) in Maharashtra State or other Volvo State Transport buses for a comfortable journey. These buses cost more than the regular state transport buses, but if you are visiting from any other Country, they are not very costly. Cheap Travelling in India is not difficult if you get a proper guidance.
