Pune City

                    Shaniwar Wada, Pune


It is the main attraction of Pune. It was the stately mansion originally built as the residence of the Peshwas. The foundation of the mansion was laid by Bajirao 1 in the year 1730 AD and construction was completed in 1732 AD. This is a fort on the ground and is in the middle of Pune City. This is well preserved and is open daily during their visit hours.
Peshwe Baug - Pune

Saras Baug & Peshwe Baug 

The twin gardens are at the heart of the City. The Ganesh Temple from Saras Baug is very old & famous. Peshwe Baug was the old Zoo which is a children’s play park now. Both gardens are worth visiting. Parvati Hills (Temple cluster from Peshwa regime on top of Parvati Hills) is five minutes distance from these twin gardens.


Khadakwasla dam-Pune

Khadakwasla Dam (The Dam which supplies drinking water to Pune City). We can’t upload the actual Dam photo on this Blog for security reasons, but showing the backwater of the dam. This dam is part of a series of dams built for supplying water for the needs of Pune City and surrounding area. The other dams on the same route are Panshet and Varasgao. They are the source of drinking as well as agricultural and industrial usage in this area.


Rajiv Gandhi National Park (Zoo)

A large Zoo and much comfortable place for Wild Animals than the Old Zoo of ‘Peshwe Baug’. A family picnic place where you will be able to see a variety of snakes, reptiles, monkeys, Tigers, Bears, Elephants, etc. The special attraction of this park is a separate Snake Park where you can see hundreds of snakes and reptiles.

Ganesh Temple - Pune
One more famous temple in Pune is Shrimant Dagdushet Halwai Ganpati. This Ganesh Temple is at the heart of the City. There are many temples in the City and you can spend a full day visiting this beautiful temples. Chaturshrungi Temple on Senapati Bapat Road & Laxmi Road (Largest shopping market mainly for clothes) is another place you may like to visit.
Pune is known on the World map because of being a large IT hub in India (Hinjewadi IT park, EON IT Park). The City has hundreds of Educational Institutes (Pune University, College of Engineering Pune) and many Hospitals.
